Smaller dimensions - better efficiency
Inductive, constructive and innovative in choke manufacture:
After some intensive development work, a choke has been constructed that has then been further improved in its features so that in comparison to its predecessor (140 x 140 x 190 mm and Pv-total approx. 65W) it is the ideal answer to customer requirements.
The aim was either to retain the electrical characteristics or improve them. The starting point of the development was to build a choke that was smaller and lighter and that had power loss that was either lower or at least of the same level.
Reducing the size of the choke with regard to these factors is not completely without its own problems. The difficulty is primarily in making the products smaller, yet simultaneously improving their level of efficiency.
It has been possible to meet these contrasting requirements using innovative technologies and state of the art materials.
Part of the solution to the problem lies in accurately determining the actual electrical operating data of the choke, such as the current waveform (e.g. ripple current magnitude), the voltage and the frequency. It is exactly the analysis of the electrical data for dimensioning that proves to be of the utmost importance, since inaccurate values here may lead to rating inaccuracies.
